Below you will find links to the requirements for writing a good scientific report for every grade. You won't have to write a complete report during the first grade, but will gradually learn to write it. At the end of the 3th grade you should be able to write a complete scientific report. Here you will also find the differences between the different grades and the differences with the report you need to write in the upper classes. The report you will be writing in the upper classes looks a lot like the report that are written by scientist nowadays (with differences per field of work).

Upper classes
For most subjects (like biology) you will learn to write a Dutch report in the upper classes, that's why the explanation is on Dutch.

1.3 Expectation (lower classes) or hypothesis (upper classes)

   2.1 List of materials
2.2 Process description (from 2nd grade)

Chapter 3: Results

Chapter 4: Discussion

Advice

Start your background story with an appealing sentence. Someone should be triggered to read on. Explain the theory and end with an short description of the experiment followed by 1.2 and 1.3.

The expectation predicts the results.
The hypothesis is a final conclusion, an answer to the research question.

When you give your method to someone, he/she should be able to do your experiment without any problems and completely the same as what you did (details!).
